: Don’t tell my mother that I have become blind

Don’t tell my mother that I have become blind

Mohammad Barash is a disabled pol
itical prisoner inside Nafha Prison; one of 85 prisoners who are either physically or mentally disabled. On the 17th of February, 2003, he was arrested after he was badly injured, and despite his disability, which resulted from his injuries, he was given three life sentences plus 35 years. He is still continuing his struggle with pride inside a cell paying a double price; his precious years of prime and the consequences of zionist entity’s crimes.

Mohammed Barash wrote a letter to his mother from Eichel prison in Beersheba, in title “Don’t tell my mother that I have become blind”:

‘Don’t tell my mother that I can no longer see. She can see me but I can’t see. I fake my smiles when she shows me the photographs of my siblings, friends, and neighbors as she doesn’t know, that I have become blind after illness spread in my eyes till the darkness filled me.

Don’t tell her that I waited for several years to have a surgery to plant a cornea. But the Israeli Prison Service kept on procrastinating and procrastinating providing my eyes all reasons to leave me.

Don’t tell my mother that the shrapnel of bullets and the bombs which managed to hit me is still settling in my body, and that my left leg had been mutilated and replaced by a plastic one. Don’t tell her that the other leg rotted and dried of blood and life.

Don’t tell my mother that the prisoner’s emotions got stripped of the most basic elements of human life as he is sentenced to see only ashes and iron, lightless life and hopelessness.

Tell her that I am alive and safe. Tell her that I can see, walk, run, play, jump, write and read. Don’t tell her that I am shouldering my pains on my walking stick, and I can picture every martyr as a moon souring in the sky and calling me with the power of lightning, thunder and clouds.

Don’t tell her that I suffer from sleepless nights, and that I live under the mercy of the pain killers till it drugs my body. Don’t tell her that I keep twiddling my stuff till I barge into the iron beds or another prisoner sleeping close to me, to wake him up to help me reach the bathroom. Don’t tell her that wakefulness always hurts me and sleep never visits me.

Don’t tell her that a piece of lead entered my eye in that bloody day in the camp streets. They aggressively shot me until my leg was cut off, and my eye was gone. And before I fainted I saw a little kid running toward me waving the Palestinian flag while screaming: a martyr, a martyr.

Tell her that my dream is not enough. My nostalgia for her is too much and her soul never leaves me. I still have from her my language, my purity, my symbols stuck on the wall, all of which heal my pain every time the light disappears around me.

Tell her that I always embrace her holy prayers, to survive from the dark cloud that surrounds me after my body has tortured me. I might get back to her or I might not, but I left the answer to this question open, although I’ve chosen spiritually to be close to her heart, as if I chose my future, of which I have officially no control.

Don’t tell her that Israel, a country in the 21st century, has turned the prisons into places where diseases are planted and bodies are ruined slowly; and slowly, it turned to be fields of trial for living people whose death is inevitable sooner or later.

Don’t tell her that I have become knowledgeable of all names of horrible illnesses and strange medications, along with all types of pain killers, while I’m witnessing my friend Zakariyya diving into a coma, with an ending unknown to me.

Don’t tell my mother about the sick prisoners whose diseases launched an insane war against their bodies: Ahmad Abu Errab, Khaled Ashawish, Ahmad El-Najjar, Mansour Mowqeda, Akram Mansour, Ahmad Samara, Wafaa El-Bis, Reema Daraghma, Tareq Asi, Mo’tasim Radad, Riyad Al-Amour, Yasir Nazzal, Ashraf Abu-Thare’, Jihad Abu-Haniyy. The merciless Israeli prisons slaughter them; illness and carelessness of a country that enjoys slow death sentences and funerals for others.

Tell her that I am still 30 doors away from you and I get closer every time a bird flies and a fire flames up my eye, and barbed wires wound me, carrying me to your arms and to your prayers.’

You can do great help to us by writing down (Just copy the sample posted here for your ease ) the Petition Letter against Article 199(3), and post by mail to the Opposition Leader Chudry Nisar Ali Khan and Speaker National Assembly Dr. Fehmida Mirza .

Instructions:
1. Copy of the sample letter given below. just copy it down.
2. You have to write down two copies of this same text.
3. First letter will be to Nisar Ali khan and in second copy you have to address Dr. Fehmida Mirza.

(Meaning the two same copies will be sent to two officials one is to Nisar Ali khan the other is to Dr. Fehmidi Mirza. Thats all you gotta do. its really not gonna cost you much money, nor much effort. lovers of Truth have to move to bring change. Just because of this inconsistent law, 12 lives are suffering a great deal. Rise against this black law. Each of your letter will move law makers to think over this issue. Debate will be raised in the Parliament on this Law. that's how your letter will do its part in saving 12 innocent lives.
These 12 innocent prisoners awaiting capital punishment by hanging. These men were unjustly convicted in the President Musharraf Attack Case in Pakistan.
· Lengthy detention and pending trial, particularly, but not exclusively under the pretext of fighting extremism.
- SC as well as Civil court has denied their appeal because of this Black Law. i.e 199(3).
· Physical assaults including torture, humiliation and disregard for human rights.
we strongly urge the Government to create within Pakistan a genuine culture of respect for all its citizens by safeguarding their human and legal rights, and by actively protecting these 12 prisoners and others like them with justice and clemency, as there is no valid evidence in support of their crime.)

Respected Sir Opposition leader Nisar Ali Khan!
By means of this letter, I wish to express my views over a non-democratic law. Inside and abroad Pakistan they boast about taking a step forward for amendment in Blasphemy Law. But sadly, who claim to be torch bearers of human rights don’t give even a slight attention to a Black Law, due to which, Pakistanis have suffered a great deal.
Article 199(3) of the Constitution, which was taken as an exemption by the first dictator of Pakistan to protect his personal aims. This is the lapse, that’s present in the constitution till now. This is due to this law that the Pakistanis, who got arrested and abducted in Musharraf Attack Case, could find no way to protect themselves from the ruthless, unconstitutional and immoral commands of Musharraf.
Even in today’s democratic rule, the doors of Courts are closed for these beings.
The first attack on Ex- President Pervaiz Musharraf took place on 14, December 2003. In which there are five convicts. Just to remind that no life lost and no one got injured in this attack. While the second took place on 25, December 2003, in which, there are seven convicts. These 12 convicts got badly entangled in to the severe barbarism of Musharraf, all that which was non constitutional, immoral, illegal. They were injuriously going through the following conditions in their own country.

1. Among them none of the convicts were allowed to bring their witness in their defense.
2. They were injuriously put to Physical assaults including torture, humiliation and disregard for human rights. By dint of torture confessional statements were taken from them.
3. Till the time of pronouncing death to these convicts, none of them were provided with their Trial Proceedings and other related documents.
4. High Court as well as Supreme Court held the decision of Court Martial, denying their appeal due to this black law of constitution 199(3) (as mentioned above).
5. In the beginning of their Trial, they were denied to access any lawyers for them.
6. They were registered with unjustifiable intentions and they were sentenced to death even though the prosecution had not produced any evidence against them. There were no legal evidence till the time court martial pronounced them death sentence.
7. Islam Siddiqi, who belonged to Defense Security Guard, was put to death in 2003 after the decision of secret court without any legal evidence, without his access to Trial proceedings and other documents, even snatching him off his right to file Mercy Petition.
8. These all convicts were arrested without any arrest warrant either abducted from different places. In other words, both the process of arrest and Case secret.I find these days in the papers that CJ Iftikhar Chuadry also urging to bring a change in inconsistent laws. We should move forward in taking concrete steps towards bringing change in such non competent laws.
I Plea, that this Black Law should be raise in the Parliament so that we can save 12 lives. Now when lawyers all over Pakistan raising their voice against this law. Rawalpindi Bar Council, in which, approximately around 1000 lawyers have passed a resolution against this law and Lawyers at Multan Bar council have passed a resolution against this black law with majority votes.
I’m positive that you will rise for this and would do your part for saving nation from the harms of this Law.
Thanking you,

Nasheed with English subtitles...

My Lord, I wept blood over them;

And my heart hurts as if it is broken;

I sleep with the injuries of the prisoners in my heart;

I cannot sleep, as I am the prisoner;

I feel down when I see the heroes chained by the despicable and worthless;

Imprisoned, my Lord, without a crime;

Except steadfastness that pushed them to go forth;

My Lord, the Mighty, above the people who are the definition of injustice;

My Lord, cause the world to suffocate them;

And torture them with it, as You are the Able;

And be patient, O prisoner, as you are free;

You are travelling to the Hereafter without any chains;

You will forget the long nights of pain;

It will come and go, O defiant one;

Remember that this world has many paths;

Some are easy, and some are difficult;

The gift to the heroes is that they live with honor;

And if they die: gardens and maidens…

Polish PM D.Tusk must raise CIA secret prison with Obama

On the photo: Abu Zubaydah, Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and Abdul Rahim al-Nashiri. (All of them were tortured in Poland)

A coalition of legal and human rights organisations is today calling on Prime Minister Donald Tusk to raise the issue of the CIA's secret prison in Poland with President Obama.

The Helsinki Foundation for Human Rights, Interights and Reprieve are jointly calling on the Polish Prime Minister to use the historic occasion of President Obama's visit to ask for the cooperation of US authorities with Poland's investigation into the CIA 'black site'.

Among the people who have been detained and tortured at the military base at Stare Kiejkuty was Abu Zubaydah, who was recently recognized as a victim by the prosecutors running the criminal investigation into the site. There he was tortured by CIA agents into making confessions which have resulted in him being held in Guantanamo Bay to this day.

The organisations are calling on Prime Minister Tusk to stress to the US President that his country's failure so far to cooperate with Poland's criminal investigation is unacceptable - and that Poland itself will be in breach of its international obligations if it fails to investigate fully allegations of torture on Polish territory.

Ziyad Yaghi is a 21 year old American citizen, from Jordan originally, residing in North Carolina whom has lived in the United States since the age of two. He has been accused of attempting to commit terrorism abroad by the United States government, in an indictment which appears to be based on an incorrect premise, namely that the US seek to infer that trips abroad were part of a terrorist conspiracy.

Ziyad visited Jordan in 2006, the country of his birth. Unfortunately the US Indictment appears to have misinterpreted this intention, and states instead that he was seeking armed conflict.

Uwolnić Naji i BassemaTamimi - Free Bassem and Naji Tamimi

Napisz do Ministra Spraw Zagranicznych w sprawie Naji i Bassema Tamimich.
Po prostu wejdź na link poniżej, kliknij 'Poland' , wpisz swoje dane i kliknij 'send':

Treść wysyłanego listu :

Szanowny Panie Ministrze,
Zwracam się do Pana w sprawie Naji i Bassem Tamimi, dwojga
Palestyńczyków, organizatorów pokojowych protestów, z wioski Nabi
Saleh położonej na Zachodnim Brzegu. Aresztowani odpowiednio 6. i 24.
marca, zostali oskarżeni o "podburzanie" i "organizowanie marszów bez
sprawie.
Zarzuty przeciwko Naji i Bassemowi Tamimi są przede wszystkim oparte
na zeznaniach dwójki dzieci - czternasto- i piętnastolatka, którzy
zostali aresztowani w środku nocy, pobici i przesłuchiwani, z
naruszeniem szeregu zasad: pozbawiano ich snu, odmówiono prawa do
konsultacji z prawnikiem, i prawa do obecności rodziców. W przypadku

nagonkę sądową przeciwko Abdallahowi Abu Rahamahowi z wioski Bil'in,
zarówno formą oskarżenia jaki i stosowanymi metodami. Wioska Nabi
Saleh stała się ostatnio głównym punktem pokojowych protestów
przeciwko izraelskiej ekspansji nielegalnych żydowskich osiedli. W
mogę siedzieć bezczynnie podczas gdy Naji i Bassem Tamimi i pozostałym
mieszkańcom wioski odmawia się podstawowego prawa do protestowania
przeciwko nielegalnej grabieży ich ziemi. Mam nadzieję, że zabierze
Pan głos w ich obronie. Będę w przyszłości kontaktował się z Panem w
tej niezwykle istotnej sprawie. Czekam na Pańską odpowiedzi.
Z poważaniem,

About Basem and Naji Tamimi:

Bassem and Naji Tamimi have organized unarmed protests in the West Bank village of Nabi Saleh. The protests have featured women prominently, and have focused on an end to occupation: of land, of minds, of hearts— for Palestinians and Israelis alike.

The Israeli army has reponded with raids, arrests, and injuries to men, women, and children. Now they have arrested Bassem and Naji in order to break the spirit of the village. Based on testimony illegally coerced of a 14 year-old, Bassem and Naji are imprisoned without trial. Their freedom will depend on all of us speaking out.
